Power resumes in quake-hit southwest China villages

All 191 quake-affected villages in southwest China's Yunnan Province resumed electricity supply on Saturday, according to local authorities.

  The emergency headquarters for Yingjiang County earthquake said some large temporary settlement sites also had electricity.

  Yingjiang was hit by a magnitude-5.0 tremor at 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by quakes with magnitudes 4.9 and 5.9 on Thursday.

  Three people were killed and 117 others injured. The tremors destroyed 11,360 houses and damaged 77,747 others, forcing 125,000 to be evacuated.
